Howdy...nice to meet you!

Hi! I'm Heather Rodman, the (slightly cracked) mind behind The Real Leopardstripes.
I make things, break things, and then make stuff out of the broken bits--according to anecdotal evidence, I've been doing this since before I could talk. I occasionally do semi-dangerous things with power tools, and I'm inordinately fond of hammers.

I'm a former professional chef, a current INCHA Certified Natural Henna Artist, sewist, maker of handcrafted jewelry, bad crochet-er, thrift addict, wirework-er, rugmaker, and an all-around dabbler in crafty stuff. I'm also a fair hand at repairs of many kinds, especially toys, clothing, and other household goods. (I have to be, living in a house full of boys!) Blogging is a new experience for me, but I love it already. It's a lot of fun sharing tutorials, recipes, and all kinds of cool stuff. I write about cooking, sewing, crafting, jewelry-making, wirework projects, upcycling, and life with Thing One, Thing Two, and the Big Guy.

I'm a very lucky gal--I live in Boise, Idaho, with the three loves of my life, plus five cats, a Catahoula Leopard Cur, and various fish. Most of them aren't too cranky, most of the time... even when I leave the anvil in the middle of the floor.

Thanks for stopping by!
